This is a pretty strange story. Sumner Redstone
has sold his controlling stake in Midway Games. While that part might
not sound strange since Midway hasn't been well. In fact the company
was recently warned of being de-listed
from the New York Stock Exchange if the stock price didn't reach over
one dollar. The strange part of the deal is that the company's stock
was sold for around $100k to an investor at the price of $0.0012 a
share. It's still unknown what the investor has planed for the company
or if Midway will disappear.
There
are few mods that catch my attention. It's not that I don't care about
the work done by this community, it's just that I don't go out looking
for mods. The mod know as Black Mesa is a little different. Not only
has this mod caught my attention but I keep popping onto their site
ever few weeks to see how this mod is progressing. The idea behind the
mod is perfect. Instead of waiting for Valve to get around to updating
Half Life these guys are taking on the challenge. now after almost a
year in development the team behind the mod has released a pretty
amazing trailer. I can't wait for the full mod to get released, I just
hope Valve waits for the release before they hire these guys.
For all those involved in Little Big
Planet custom outfits are at the height of importance. These
customizable costumes of style give players a change to have a look all
there own. Now there are rumors that players will soon have the
opportunity to turn their sack boy or girls in their favorite Street
Fighter character. 1up.com is reporting that Capcom
is close to releasing a few new outfits for the highly popular PS3
title. There is little info a side from the above image. In fact the
original story, which was found on a Spanish PlayStation community site
has since been removed. As soon as the new costumes are officially
announced I'll post the details.
I tend to think of some games as a group mandatory event. I'm not
talking about "party games", but games that need a group or party
around to really get the full enjoyment out of them. Mortal Kombat has always been - in my eyes - a group game. Even with a single player mode included in every iteration of Mortal Kombat,
I still think the excitement is heightened with a few friends to cheer
you on. The over the top fighting is perfectly complemented with the
laughter of others. For those unlucky enough to play the last few
editions of this fighting series then you know how bad they've been. In
fact many consider the series dead, but after playing this new Mortal Kombat I can clearly say that statement is now false. Not only is Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe an improvement over previous MK titles, but it could possibly be the rebirth of the franchise.
Back when Mega Man 9 was getting close to launching Capcom released an outstanding looking presskit. Now with Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix hitting the PlayStation®Network on November 25, 2008, and Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the

Li figurine (only 1,000 made), Magnetic Background with two sheets of
Static Cling Characters, Street Fighter Remix Comic and Asset Disc. If
you're reallyinterested in this press kit you will have a chance to pick up 1 of 300 when they hit the Capcom Store .
One of the new features in the New Xbox
Experience is the ability to install games directly to the hard drive.
While the idea of the service is pretty nice I think the over all the
use of it is a little "filling." Now most of us have the basic 20gbharddrive which does a good job and if you don't download a ton of movies onto the Xbox,
you really don't need a larger drive. Yet there are always those that
need to get the most out everything and ran out to pick up a larger hardrive so they could back up their whole library to save three to five seconds of loading when starting up GTA IV.
To all those that feel it necessary to fill your drive with games, I congratulate you. You now need an even larger hardrive,
but for those looking to pack away a few games at a time you may also
like this newly found list. I have come across a list that details the
size of these games that may find a new home on your hardrive. The list was found on Kotaku , who found it on NeoGAF . So enjoy all the fun of backing up those games you can't go without.
With so many games going episodic I've become accustomed
to seeing a lackluster second episode. Lately these less than
enthusiastic attempts at returning players to the excitement of their
first episode have painfully failed. However not all serials are
producing poorly rehashes of their first issues and some are even going
far beyond their inaugural episode. The guys from the Penny Arcade are
back with their second episode of the Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. Will this new episode make achievements where so many others have failed or will it miss being a stand out hit like the first episode?
It's hard not to remember the N64 classic "Golden Eye". A game that not
only become the biggest game on the system, but it defined the way we
all play first person shooters on a console. Now over ten years later
Bond is back in Quantum of Solace. This new first person shooter's title may be deceiving since it's mostly based on the events of Casino Royale.
Can this new licensed title reach the same status of the N64 classic or
will it simply become another unlikable movie based game?

Midway Games today announced a release date of February 16, 2009 for Wheelman. This

PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and personal computers.
Today the New Xbox Experience (NXE) has gone live. This new face-lift to Xbox 360 adds avatars and the much anticipated Netflix service. In my opinion this new display isn't perfect but I'll give it a few days. I think I'm just a little accustom to the Wii and PS3 idea of giving useful applications, like weather and news apps. The idea of using a Netflix account to rent movies via my 360 would be nice if I had a Netflix account but I don't. So I guess I just get a new avatar that looks like a flashy Mii...
